A passion that began at Lake Maggiore

Sometimes you have to take a detour to discover your true passion. While searching for my direction in life, I decided to take a break from my studies, grab a backpack, and head to Ascona, Switzerland. On the shores of beautiful Lake Maggiore, in sunny Ticino, I found my path in gastronomy.

Under the guidance of a German master chef, I learned the tricks of the trade. There, I not only discovered the secrets of a fine kitchen but also learned how to provide guests with an unforgettable holiday experience. Although the extremely long working hours in traditional hospitality led me to finish my studies in the Netherlands, my love for the craft never faded.

Something special: Chez Cath

With the arrival of Sable du Temps, that passion finally found its place. However, we didn’t want to start a standard restaurant; we were looking for something unique, something that didn’t exist yet. A place where we could express our own creativity and where hospitality is truly personal. This is how Chez Cath was born.

At Chez Cath, no two dinners are the same. Together with Catharina, you decide exactly how the afternoon or evening will look. From the theme and table setting to the colors, the flowers, and, of course, the menu; everything is tailored to your wishes.

Whether you choose a multi-course menu or have specific dietary requirements: we ensure a conscious, culinary experience that suits you perfectly.

Capacity & Possibilities

Our Private Dining is available year-round for groups of 8 people or more. Whether you prefer an authentic indoor atmosphere or the beautiful French outdoors, we offer the perfect setting:

Salle à Manger: An atmospheric, intimate space that accommodates up to 24 people.
The Terrace: Enjoy the sunshine or a balmy evening at a beautifully set table (maximum 24 people).
Summer Buffets: During the summer months, we host extensive buffets on our terrace for larger groups of up to 40 people.
